WATERVILLE, ME --- Thomas College junior Nick Kopf (Hampden, Maine / Hampden Academy) finished third overall to lead the Terriers to a runner-up finish at the Thomas College Classic Friday afternoon at the Quarry Road Recreation Area.
Kopf pulled away from teammate Ethan Harriman (Readfield, Maine / Maranacook) down the final stretch. Connor Hrunyk of UMaine-Presque Isle won the individual title in 17:09, edging Owls teammate Sully Jackson for the title.
UMPI defeated Thomas, 23-32, in the team race.
The event served as Thomas' final competition prior to the North Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 31 at Saxl Park in Bangor.
