Cross Country Team Conclude Season at the NAC Championship Meet

CASTLETON, VT - The men's and women's cross country teams competed in the North Atlantic Conference Championship meet Sunday at Castleton. 

Women's Recap

The women's team finished in seventh place out of the nine schools that were eligible for scoring and placement in the 5K championship meet. The Terriers finished with 187 points on the day, and were led by sophomore Amanda Cotter, who took fifth place overall in a time of 21:09.

Sophomore Crystal Peatfield was next to finish with a time of 23:26, taking 24th place. She was followed senior captain Samantha Felbaum in a time of 28:01, finishing 69th.

Nicole Ryder (28:14) and Alyssa Maggi (28:53) finished 71st and 79th, respectively to close out the scoring runners for Thomas.

Colby-Sawyer won the championship with a team score of 38, which included four of the top 10 finishers, led by Emily Lopez with a time of 21:00. They were followed in second by Husson with 46,UMF in third with 94, and New England College in fourth with 96.

Castleton (137), Lyndon State (186), Thomas (187), Johnson State (203) and Maine Maritime (243) rounded out the rest of the field. Green Mountain was unable to place in the meet.

Women's Results

Men's Recap

The men's team finished in eighth place out of the nine schools that were eligible for scoring and placement in the 8K championship meet. The Terriers finished with 201 points on the day, and were led by sophomore Nick Kopf, who crossed the finish line in a time of 29:00, good for 29th place.

Junior Sam Cook was next to finish with a time of 29:19, taking 35th. He was followed sophomore Cole Barney in a time of 30:11, finishing 44th.

Evan Boudreau (30:50) and Will Janakis (30:53) finished 46th and 47th, respectively. Forrest Labbe was the last Terrier runner to score in the meet, finishing 61st in a time of 32:34.

Lyndon State won the championship with a team score of 38, which included the number one runner Tyler Scheibenpflu in a time of 25:27. They were followed in second by Colby-Sawyer with 49, New England College in third with 90, and host Castleton in fourth with 102.

UMF (139), Maine Maritime (142), Johnson State (176), Thomas (201) and Husson (221) rounded out the rest of the field. Green Mountain was unable to place in the meet.

Men's Results

Both the men's and women's cross country teams have concluded their 2014 seasons.
