Box Score

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas women's soccer team fell 2-0 to New England College on Senior Day this afternoon at Smith Field.

The Pilgrims got on the board in the 6th minute when Jaycie Triandafilou received a cross from Rachel Thomas placed it bottom right for the early 1-0 lead.

Just over four minutes later, Triandafilou would add her second goal of the match after corralling a loose ball in the box and tapping it past Terrier keeper Paige Leary.

NEC would take the 2-0 lead in to halftime. Thomas was held without a shot as the offense could not get on track.

The second half played out scoreless, as neither offense generated much of an attack. The Pilgrims held a 12-1 shot advantage on the day, as Thomas had their lone scoring opportunity turned away when Emily Dufour hit the post on a header then NEC keeper Tricia Sardagnola made her only save.

The Terriers finish the year out at 5-12 and 2-7 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Pilgrims improve to 11-5-3 and 4-2-3 in the NAC.

Thomas honored six seniors before the match, playing for the final time in a Terrier uniform: Kristi Hilton, Mary Grace Morris, Elizabeth McPhillips, Sara Moynihan, Toral Nelson and Jenn Day. Read Thurston was also honored as part of the senior class.
