Box Score FARMINGTON, ME – Thomas was unable to come away with a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory, falling to University of Maine at Farmington, 5-0 on Saturday afternoon. Senior keeper Kate Thibodeau recorded 10 saves in the losing effort for Thomas. With the loss, Thomas falls to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Thomas was the one that jumped out to a quick start, registering four shots in the first five minutes before Farmington was able to take one of their own. The Beavers however struck first in the 18th minute, as Ava Amador was able to break away from the defense and find the back of the net.
The Beavers would strike again the 40th minute on a marker by Renee Dupre to give the home side a 2-0 lead heading into half. Thomas took six shots in the opening stanza, but the Beavers countered with 13 of their own.
The second half saw Farmington explode on offense for 21 shots, while their defense held the away side to just two. The Beavers struck for three more goals in the closing half to pull the game from reach.
In all, Thomas had eight shots on net, while UMF struck for 34. Kajsa Kaufeldt led the Terriers with three shots, two of them on net.
The Terriers will be back on the pitch on Tuesday as they travel to non-conference opponent Regis. Game time scheduled for 4pm.
