Men's Cross Country Preview: NAC Championship

11/3/2013 12:00:00 AM

Waterville, ME- The 2013 NAC Cross Country Championship is being hosted by Thomas and held at Quarry Road in Waterville.

The Terriers were picked seventh at the beginning of the season, but the Terriers have done a lot to improve on that projection.

This season has been when of the most successful in program history so far. Nick Kopf is coming off a third place finish at the Mariner Invitational last Saturday, while being named NAC Rookie of the Week four separate times. Kopf will look to his teammates with some prior NAC championship experience, like William Janakis for a few pointers on what to expect for the ten school meet.

"I am feeling confident, I know the course the best and I am hoping to overcome some setbacks and have my best finish ever," said Janakis about the upcoming race.

This season has been a first for the Terriers, who have had the five same runners finish top five in each race; those runners are Kopf, Janakis, Evan Boudreau, Dylan McNally and Aron MacLean. Three of those runners are in the first year in the program, which shows that the program is going in the right direction.
