Thomas Concludes Season with Loss to Colby-Sawyer in Quarterfinals

NEW LONDON, NH, Thomas saw their 2013 season come to a close, falling to Colby-Sawyer, 5-0 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinals.

Colby-Sawyer, the tournament's top seed, improves to 17-3, while the No. 8 seed Terriers of Thomas fall to 4-13 to end the year.  

The home team got the scoring started in the 8th minute when junior Heather Faasse fed a through ball to senior teammate Marion James. James was leaking down the center of the field when the ball came to her.  She then ripped a shot into the left corner of the net for her team leading fourth game-winning goal of the season. 

In the 24th minute, sophomore Tallon Tomasi was able to find an angle and deposit the ball in the cross corner of the net. The goal was Tomasi's sixth of the season.

Three minutes later, the Chargers went in front 3-0 on senior Adrienne Bender's tally Junior Sarah Little sent a cross from the left side of the field into the box where Bender never let the ball hit the ground and volleyed the ball into the net.

Colby-Sawyer scored once more in the first half when junior Michelle Upham was awarded a penalty kick after she was fouled in the box.

Colby-Sawyer sophomore goalie Karley Hamilto recorded the shutout. Senior keeper Kate Thibodeau made nine saves for Thomas in the loss. 

This game marks the end of the collegiate careers of seniors Elizabeth Goodall, Jillian Lambert, and Thibodeau.
