Box Score NEW LONDON, NH – The Thomas women's soccer team was shut out 3-0 to Colby-Sawyer in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest, on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the NAC, while Thomas falls to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Senior Marion James scored the first goal and eventual game-winner at 17:04 off a feed from fellow senior Adrienne Bender for the home side.
The Chargers took a 2-0 lead ten minutes later on junior Michelle Upham's team leading eighth goal of the season. Junior Heather Faasse found the foot of her teammate with a precise through ball and let Upham do the rest.
Colby-Sawyer added a third goal early in the second half. Sophomore Tallon Tomasi ripped a shot past the Thomas keeper to score on her only shot of the game.
Colby-Sawyer sophomore Karley Hamilton stopped both of Thomas' shots en route to her ninth shutout of the season. Thomas keeper Kate Thibodeau kept Thomas in the game with 18 saves.
Colby-Sawyer outshot the Terriers 30-2 and held a 6-1 edge in corners.
Thomas travels to New England College tomorrow for a 3:30 p.m. contest with the Pilgrims.
