Box Score

WATERVILLE, ME - Thomas was edged by Husson 1-0 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match Saturday afternoon. Kajsa Kaufeldt led the way for the Terriers with two shots on goal. The Terriers fall to 3-11, 1-6 NAC on the year with the loss.

Thomas and Husson went back and forth in the first half, with much of the play in the neutral field. Both teams had opportunities to jump out to an early lead, but neither could capitalize. Bronte Howorth had a great opportunity early from just inside the box, but Jess Poulin made the save to deny her the go-ahead goal. The game would remain scoreless going into the half.

Both teams continued to trade shots in the second stanza until the 70th minute, when Courtney Hill found the back of the net on a cross from Sydney Costa. Thomas would look for an answer, but could not get a quality shot on net to be the equalizer.

Kate Thibodeau made six saves on seven shots, while her counterpart Poulin finished the game with five saves on five shots.

Husson had a 15-7 advantage in shots in the victory, while holding a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.

With the loss Thomas falls to 9-1 against their in-state rival since 2003 when both teams became members of the NAC.

The Terriers will take to the pitch next Saturday, October 26 in a conference matchup against Castleton State. Start time to the game is 12pm.
