BUCKSPORT, ME- The Thomas Terriers men's cross country team placed a season best second place on Saturday in the Maine Maritime Cross Country Invitational. Thomas narrowed out UMPI for the second place spot by six points, 43-49. Thomas had the second and third place runners in William Janakis (S. Berwick, Maine) at 17:26 and Evan Boudreau (Lamoine, Maine) at 17:31.
The Terriers produced a ninth place finish in David Tirabassi (Lewiston, Maine) with an 18:01, while freshmen Connor Pinkham (Poland, Maine) and Cameron Brousseau (Rockport, Mass.) rounded out Thomas' scoring with 14th and 15th places, respectively. Pinkham logged a 19:16, with Brousseau crossing nine seconds later.
The Mariners defended their meet invitational, while the University of Maine at Presque Isle produced the meet champion in freshman Thomas Grylka (E. Hampton, Conn.).
Thomas will return to action next weekend at the North Atlantic Conference Championships.
