Box Score

WATERVILLE, ME- The Thomas women's soccer team (4-10-1, 1-6-1 NAC) earned a 1-1 draw versus Maine Maritime Academy (5-8-2, 2-4-2 NAC) on senior night in a North Atlantic Conference soccer match Wednesday evening on the Black Field. Thomas seniors Jasmine Ryan (Berwick, Maine) and Kim Grant (Alton Bay, N.H.) were recognized before the start of the contest.

The Mariners struck first when Cassandra Lafontaine (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) received a pass from Sarah Brochu (Hardwick, Vt.) and put it past the keeper in the 11th minute for the early lead.

The lead would remain at 1-0 until the 41st minute when Jillian Lambert (Dayton, Maine) got the ball from Kajsa Kaufeldt (Uppsala, Sweden) and buried it to left side for the tying goal. The score would remain knotted up heading into halftime.

After a scoreless second half that featured some tough defensive play on both sides that limited shot opportunities, the two teams then maxed out two overtimes of scoreless play to bring the game to a close with a 1-1 draw.

Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) recorded two saves in the match for the Terriers, as did Taylor O'Malley (Middletown, R.I.) for the Mariners.

The Terriers will close out the regular season against Lyndon State College on October 20, at 1pm in Lyndonville.
