Box Score Farmington, Maine – The Thomas College women's soccer team jumped out to an early one goal lead over the Beavers of the University of Maine at Farmington, but it wasn't enough as they fell 2-1 in the North Atlantic Conference match up yesterday afternoon. With the loss the Terriers fall to 1-6 (1-1, NAC) while the UMF improves to 3-1-2 (2-0, NAC).
The Terriers got on the board first when sophomore Arian Kumlangngam finished a high-arcing shot past the UMF goal keeper at the 12:45 mark. The Terriers nearly went up by two when senior Terissa Ridge just went high of the goal.
At the break the Terriers held a 1-0 lead.
At the 59:12 mark UMF evened the score when Ava Amador finished a pass from Abbey Gilbert making it a 1-1 game.
The Beavers got the go ahead goal at the 68:27 mark when Kayla Tuttle finished a pass from Alexandra Crocker that just nipped the fingertips of Terriers goal keeper Kate Thibodeau.
The Beavers were able to hold the Terriers without a shot over the final 16 minutes of the match preserving a 2-1 victory.
Thibodeau shoulders the loss for the Terriers despite stopping 21 UMF shots.
The Terriers will return to the pitch on Saturday September 25th when they travel to Johnson State.
