Women Sink MMA, 5-1

Castine, Maine - Thomas College exploded for four goals in the second half to take a 5-1 victory over Maine Maritime Academy in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer on Wednesday. Arian Kumlangngam provided the game-winner in the 58th minute.

Sophomore Elizabeth Godall put the Terriers (3-12, 3-5 NAC) up 1-0 in the waning seconds of the first half when she put in a rebound off of a Jen Day shot from 50 yards out.

Coming out for the break the Mariners (0-13, 0-8 NAC) got on the board three into minutes into the half when Natasha Morris scored off of a Emily Brogden corner kick that Thomas goalkeeper Kate Thibodeau mishandled allowing Morris to redirect for the tying goal.

Kumlangngam broke a 1-1 tie when she finished a cross from first year Kristi Hilton. Nine minutes later Jillian Lambert gave the Terriers some insurance when she scored off a pass from senior Vitoria Devonshire. First year Mary Grace Morris put the Terriers up 4-1 when she scored off a Day assist in the 72nd minute.  Senior Terissa Ridge scored the final goal of the game with 20 seconds remaining on the clock.

Thibodeau made two saves in the win for Thomas.

The Terriers will finish their 2011 regular season on Saturday October 22nd with a NAC match-up against Lyndon at 1 p.m.
