Women's Soccer Drops One at Home to UMPI

Waterville, Maine – The Thomas College Women's soccer team fell 3-0 to the Owls of the University of Maine at Presque Isle in a non-conference game at home Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Jillian Lambert put in a strong effort in midfield with three shots, with two of them being on goal.

The loss drops the Terriers to 2-12 (2-4 NAC) and with the win it improves the Owls record to 8-4 on the season.

The Owls punched in their first goal off the foot of first year Elizabeth Keagan from a corner kick by fellow first year Chelsea Beauchemin at the 14:28 mark off the first half. The Owls would strike again at the 29:51 mark of the first half off the foot of sophomore Elena Estrada who was assisted by junior Lainey Herring. 

The last goal scored in the game was put in in by junior Lainey Herring at the 15:26 mark in the second half.

Along with Lambert sophomore goal keeper Kate Thibodeau put in a strong effort tallying six saves on nine shots against, in the loss. Junior Taylor Ussery made four saves and picks up the win for UMPI.

The Terriers have a North Atlantic Conference game with Maine Maritime on October 19th at 5:00 p.m. The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls will play again October 22nd at Fisher College at 1:00p.m.
