Smith Field

Smith Field is located next to Bernatchez and the Sukeforth Family Sports Center, and is one of the most used facilities in athletics. The field is also commonly known around campus as the "black" field, for the color of the 12-foot border surrounding the field. The first events held on Smith Field was a Men's Soccer contest on September 18th, 2012 against the University of Southern Maine. Smith field is 235 yards, and 475 x 130 yards combined with Bernatchez Field.. These two turf fields cost a combined $4.5 million and were built in 2012 by Signature Turf (Smith Field) and Power Blade HP (Bernatchez Field). Smith Field has Field Turf, while Bernatchez Field has Victory Turf. The capacity is approximately 500 people. These fields have a long list of amenities, including scoreboards, two storage buildings, a promenade, fencing, walkways, parking, and portable bleachers.
