WSOC: Terriers Tie SUNY Canton 1-1 in NAC Opener

CANTON, N.Y. – The Thomas College opened their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) season with a 1-1 draw with SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first, Thomas was the first on the board in the 59th minute when a Katriana Pratt (Poland, Maine) free kick from just outside the left of the box deflected off the Canton goaltender and right to the foot of Kayla Sellars (Bunn, N.C.) who buried it into the open net for the 1-0 lead. The Roos came back to tie it in the 63rd minute and send the game to overtime. Neither side was able to convert on opportunities in the extra time and the game played to a 1-1 draw.

Isabelle Lang (Lincolnville, Maine) made four saves for Thomas in net, while Victoria Hanna turned away eight shots for Canton.

Thomas travels to Emerson on Tuesday, September 17 for a 5:00 PM game.
