WSOC: Terriers Force Overtime, Fall to Colby 1-0

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to Colby College 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday evening at Smith Field.

Colby kept Thomas starting goaltender Lauren Bartlett (Wells, Maine) busy in the opening 45, putting eight shots on goal, but Bartlett held the Mules scoreless going into the second.

Isabelle Lang (Lincolnville, Maine) took over between the pipes for the second half and continued the Terriers' outstanding goaltending, while the defense settled in and allowed only five shots on goal in the second frame and kept the game scoreless to go to overtime.

The Mules finally put one through five minutes into extra time, with a Kara Wilson cross from the corner finding the head of Olivia Greif, who flicked it into the net for the winner.

Ashley Boardman got the win for Colby after taking over in the second half for starter Shannon Gray. Lang took the loss for Thomas after a six-save performance.

Thomas will travel to Becker for their next game on Saturday, September 7 at 3:00 PM.
