WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team fell to Saint Joseph (Conn.) 13-7 on Wednesday afternoon on Smith Field.
The teams traded goals over the first ten minutes, with each side netting two scores. Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) and Mackenzie Driscoll (North Andover, Mass.) each picked up goals for the Terriers. The Blue Jays scored four more times in the half, while Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.) scored for the Terriers to make it 6-3 at the half.
Saint Joseph scored three unanswered to go up 9-3 before Felch stopped the run with a goal at the 22:44 mark. The teams traded a goal each, with Driscoll getting her second to bring the score to 10-5. The Blue Jays scored three in a row, before Felch and Driscoll each finished their hat tricks to make it a 13-7 final.
All three Terriers goalies split time in net, with Elizabeth Gotay (Guilderland, N.Y.) getting the start and taking the loss for Thomas. Addyson Bond (Corina, Maine) and Arianna Cannistraro (Waltham, Mass.) also had time in goal.
The Terriers will travel to Bay Path on Sunday, March 15 for a 4:00 PM game.
