WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon 63-55 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) paced Thomas with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Malorie Weaver (Palermo, Maine) tacked on 14 points and 10 boards. Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) came off the bench with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Lyndon jumped out to an early lead, going up 15-8 with 3:27 remaining in the first quarter and finished the frame with a 19-14 lead. The Hornets stretched their lead through the first five minutes of the second quarter, going on an 11-2 run to start the quarter to go up 30-16. Lyndon kept their distance through the remainder of the period and went into the intermission ahead 36-24.
Thomas began to chip away through the third quarter, reducing the Hornet's lead to six with two minutes left in the quarter to make it 43-27. Lyndon pushed the lead back to double digits with a quick run in the final minutes to make it 50-39 going into the final quarter.
The Terriers were able to reduce the lead to as little as six on two occasions late in the fourth, but Lyndon pulled away with the 63-55 victory.
