WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has released its pre-championship poll for men's and women's cross country. In a vote conducted by the league's coaches, the Thomas College men were picked to finish third, while the women were tabbed to finish ninth.
MEN'S COACHES POLL
SUNY Delhi was selected as the favorite to win, collecting seven first-place votes for a total of 78 points in the pre-championship poll, while Maine Maritime Academy garnered one first-place vote for 73 points to claim second and Thomas took third with 65 points and the remaining first-place vote.
Husson was tabbed fourth with 50 points, SUNY Canton was fifth with 39 points, and UMaine Presque Isle and UMaine-Farmington tied for sixth with 33 points. NVU-Lyndon took eighth (20 points) followed by NVU-Johnson with eleven points.
WOMEN'S COACHES POLL
SUNY Delhi was the favorite to take the championship after receiving five first-place votes for a total of 75 points in the pre-championship poll, while Husson claimed a close second with 74 points after receiving the remaining three first-place votes. UMaine-Farmington (65 points) and UMaine-Presque Isle (48 points) rounded out the top four.
SUNY Canton and Maine Maritime Academy tied for fifth with 41 points, while Lyndon was voted seventh (25 points). NVU-Johnson took eighth (19 points) while Thomas finished the poll with 15 points in ninth.
