MSOC: Mules Take Battle of Elm City, 2-1

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team fell to Colby College in their home opener on Wednesday evening at Smith Field. Colby's win gives them their third straight win in the Battle of Elm City.

Kyle Patterson (Gorham, Maine) opened the scoring for Thomas in the 7th minute, flicking in a feed from the right wing by DJ Nicholas (Portland, Maine) to put the Terriers up 1-0. Colby would answer back at the end of the half to knot the score at 1-1 at the break.

Ethan Fabricant scored the game-winner for Colby in the 74th minute to push the Mules to a 2-1 win.

Dan Carlson took the win for Colby, while Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) was given the loss after a seven save performance.


Thomas will travel to the University of New England for a 3:00 PM game on Saturday, September 8.
