WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 12-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
The Terriers struck first with 6:16 remaining in the first, when Harry Heald (Georgetown, Maine) scored with an assist t Jack Gallagher (Camden, Maine) on the man advantage. After the Mariners grabbed two to go up 2-1, Gallagher evened it back up with three minutes left in the period to tie it 2-2 heading into the second. The Thomas offense stalled in the second as MMA scored four unanswered to go up 6-2 at the half.
MMA scored three in the third and fourth to take the 12-2 victory.
Damon Westhaver (Damariscotta, Maine) took the loss for Thomas, stopping 16 shots in goal.
Thomas will host Anna Maria in a non-conference game on Saturday, April 13 at 4:00 PM.
