WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team fell to UMaine-Farmington 93-69 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) led Thomas with 16 points off the bench along with five steals, four rebounds and four assists. Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) and Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) each added 14 points with Fleurine adding nine rebounds.
The teams traded baskets in the early minutes, with the score tied 12-12 at the 15:29 mark. The Terriers went on a 26-11 run over the next nine minutes, taking a commanding 38-23 lead with 6:37 to go in the first. The Beavers chipped the lead down to 11 over the final minutes of the half to cut the Terriers advantage to 51-40 at the intermission.
The Terriers offense went cold in the second, as the Beavers quickly erased their deficit and took a 56-54 lead at the 14:19 mark. UMF went on a 21-5 run over the next nine minutes to take control at 77-59 and cruised to the 93-69 victory.
Thomas will travel to Maine Maritime Academy on Friday, January 31 for another NAC game at 7:30 PM.
