JOHNSON, Vt. – The Thomas College men's basketball team defeated Northern Vermont University-Johnson 75-69 on Friday evening in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game.
Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) recorded his seventh double-double of the year, leading the Terriers with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) contributed 17 points and seven boards off the bench, while Justin Butler (Orlando, Fla.) added 12 points.
Thomas dominated the boards, outrebounding Johnson 42-33.
The teams were evenly matched in the early going, with Thomas holding a 33-31 edge with 2:24 to go in the first half. The Terriers closed the half on an 11-2 run to take a 44-33 advantage into halftime. The Badgers closed the gap early in the second and eventually took the lead with eight and a half to go. The teams traded the lead over the following minutes, with a Fleurine layup with 1:32 giving the Terriers the lead for good at 66-65 as they moved on with the75-69 win.
Thomas travels to NVU-Lyndon on Saturday, January 11 for a NAC game at 3:00 PM.
