GOLF: Terriers Come in Third at Mariner Classic

MANCHESTER, Maine – The Thomas College golf team finished third in the Mariner Classic hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at Augusta Country Club on Thursday. Thomas tallied a team score of 318, 10 strokes off the pace of tournament winner USM.

Caleb Roy (Lyman, Maine) turned in his best card of the season, shooting a +6 76 to come in a season-high third place. Kent Johnson (Carmel, Maine) followed in a tie for 13th with a score of 80. Zachary Gagne (Augusta, Maine) and Aaron Pion (Waterville, Maine) each finished with an 81 to tie for 16th, while Evan Parsons (Woolwich, Maine) rounded out the lineup with an 83.

Thomas will set its sights on hosting the 2019 North Atlantic Conference Championship on October 12 and 13 at Waterville Country Club. Tee off is set for 9:30 AM both days.
