Thomas Gets Back to .500 Mark, Romp Eagles 5-0

NASHUA, NH – Thomas (3-3) field hockey was able to get back to the .500 mark on Wednesday, shutting out Daniel Webster (0-4) in a non-conference contest, 5-0. Miranda Tinsman had two goals in the winning effort.

Thomas first cracked the scoring affair at the 11:18, as Tinsman found a pass from Brittany Premo that she buried in the back of the net. Michelle Green would tally the second goal of the game at the 27 minute mark, getting an assist from Erica Blake. Tinsman would add another in the 30th minute to add to the Terrier lead going into halftime.

The Terriers would continue their offensive pressure in the closing stanza, as Lauren Hachey added to the lead at 47:50 on a feed from Gabrielle Willey. Brooklyn Curry added the final Thomas marker at the 62nd minute on an unassisted goal.

Overall, Thomas outshot Daniel Webster 37-1, while having a 33-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Abbie Charrier Brittany Fox combined for the shutout for the Terriers with each playing one half. Eagle net minder Teresa Moscati finished with 25 saves in the loss.

Thomas will begin conference play on Saturday, Sept. 21 as they travel to New England College. Last season in Waterville, the Terriers lost a heartbreaker to NEC, 2-1.
