XC: Terrier Men Place Five in Top Six to Win UMA Invite

AUGUSTA, Maine – The Thomas College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the UMaine-Augusta Invitational on Saturday. The men's team claimed five of the top six positions to earn the first-place team finish, while there was no team scoring for the women.

Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H.) earned the top spot for Thomas, finishing the 5K race in 16:53.92. Ryan Beckerman (Bethel, Maine) came in second, followed by Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) in third. Alister Piccini (Winslow, Maine) finished fifth, followed by Owen McQuarrie (Presque Isle, Maine) in sixth to round out Thomas' top five.

Audrey Kimball (St. Albans, Maine) earned a second-place finish for the women with a time of 28:16.92. Susanna Owens (Winn, Maine) followed in fourth, while Fatoumata Diallo (Salem, Mass.) came in behind her in fifth. Rebecca Kennett (Freeport, Maine) crossed in sixth place, with Tanasia Eldon Port St. Lucie, Fla.) rounding out the field in eighth.

Thomas will compete in the Colby Invitational on Saturday, October 5.
