BELFAST, Maine – The Thomas College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Mariner Invitational, hosted by Maine Maritime on Saturday. The race served as a preview for the North Atlantic Conference Championship, which will be held on the course on October 28. The men finished fourth of seven as a team in the 5k race, while the women had three individuals compete.
Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H.) was run down in the final stretch by UMaine-Farmington's Osman Doorow to just miss out on his second consecutive victory. His time of 16:16.5 was good for second behind Doorow's 16:11.2. Alister Piccini was next across the line for Thomas, finishing 13th, while Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) was just behind him in 15th. Dillon Sullivan (New Gloucester, Maine) and Harrison Mosher (China, Maine) were the final two scorers for the Terriers, coming in 27th and 30th, respectively.
Olivia Wallace (Jonesboro, Maine) was the top finisher for the women, coming in 36th. She was followed by teammates Natalie Corrigan (Oakland, Maine) in 37th and Brooklyn LeClair (Waterville, Maine) in 42nd.
Thomas will be off this week and will return to action on Saturday, September 22 at the UMaine-Augusta Invitational.
