BANGOR, ME --- The Thomas College women's cross country team finished ninth at the North Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday at Saxl Park.
Junior Crystal Peatfield (Salem, N.H. / Salem) was the first Terrier across the line, finishing 29th overall in a time of 23:46.40 for 27 points. Fellow junior Amanda Cotter (Moultonboro, N.H. / Inter-Lakes) placed 44th in 24:31.28 for 39th-place points.
Sophomore Evelyn Swan (Bar Harbor, Maine / Mount Desert Island) took 70th in 26:50.35, followed by fellow first-year Margaux Lorin (La Baule, France) in 77th place (27:20.46), sophomore Alyssa Maggi (Belchertown, Mass. / Belchertown) in 91st (29:19.07), first-year Marissa Gammon (Minot, Maine / Poland Regional) in 99th (31:26.02) and sophomore Krysten Quinn (East Millinocket, Maine / Schenck) in 104th (33:28.73).
The Terriers finished with 232 points overall. Colby-Sawyer College won the NAC title with 30 points behind six players in the top 15. UMaine-Farmington (59) was second while Castleton (90) took third. New England College junior Abby Shafer won the individual title in 20:07.20, beating the rest of the field by nearly 30 seconds.
Next up for Thomas is the 2015 NCAA Division III Cross Country New England Region Championships at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut on November 14.
