BRUNSWICK, ME --- The Thomas College women's cross country team placed 10th of 11 teams at the Maine State Cross Country Championships Saturday at Bowdoin College.
The Terriers, who finished with 304 points, were led by junior Crystal Peatfield (Salem, N.H. / Salem) in 96th place. She completed the 5-kilometer layout at the Pickard Field Cross Country Course in 22:12.9 to earn 49 points.
Sophomore Amanda Cotter (Moultonboro, N.H. / Inter-Lakes) hauled in 54 points with her 108th-place time of 22:37.9, while freshmen Marissa Gammon (Minot, Maine / Poland Regional) and Evelyn Swan (Bar Harbor, Maine / Mount Desert Island) finished 148th and 150th, respectively. Gammon finished in 24:40.8 to score 65 points. Swan stopped the clock in 25:10.5 for 66 points.
Sophomore Alyssa Maggi (Belchertown, Mass. / Belchertown) placed 160th overall, accounting for 70 points with her time of 26:19.9. Classmate Krysten Quinn (East Millinocket, Maine / Schenck) finished 173rd in 30:30.6.
Colby won the team title with 37 points. Bowdoin and Bates both finished on 55 points, but the host Polar Bears took second due to a tiebreaker.
The Terriers close out the pre-championships portion of their schedule Friday when they host the Thomas Invitational.
