WTEN: Terriers Fall to NVU-Johnson in NAC Match

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell to Northern Vermont University-Johnson 6-3 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match on Saturday afternoon.

Alexis Nestor (Gardiner, Maine) and Magan Williams (Oakland, Maine) earned a dominant 8-1 win in first doubles to start Thomas with the early lead. The second team of Taylor Davis (Lebanon, Maine) and Cassidy Hamm (Pittsfield, Maine) had their comeback bid cut short and fell 8-6. Makayla Guerette (Pittsfield, Maine) and Abigail Stevens (Detroit, Maine) fell 8-3 at No. 3 to give Johnson a 2-1 lead.

Williams Picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles for Thomas, while Davis came from behind at No. 3 to give Thomas two more points. The Badgers took the final four points, however, and won 6-3.

Thomas will host NVU-Lyndon in a NAC match on Sunday, September 22 at 11:00 AM.
