WTEN: Terriers Earn First Victory with 6-3 NAC Win Over SUNY Delhi

DELHI, N.Y. – The Thomas College women's tennis team earned their first win of the season, defeating SUNY Delhi 6-3 in a North Atlantic Conference match on Sunday.

The Terriers took command early, clinching two of three doubles matches. The first flight team of Alexis Nestor (Gardiner, Maine) and Magan Williams (Oakland, Maine) earned a 8-5 win, while Taylor Davis (Lebanon, Maine) and Cassidy Hamm (Pittsfield, Maine) took care of business at No. 2, 8-3.

Thomas took four singles matches, starting with Nestor and Williams earning wins in the first and second flights. Samantha Mercier (Berlin, N.H.) earned the match-clinching point at No. 5, coming back from down 4-1 in the first set to win 6-4, 6-1. Makayla Guerette (Pittsfield, Maine) rounded out the win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in sixth singles.

Thomas will host Husson in a non-conference match on Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 PM.
