BELGRADE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team took an 8-1 loss to Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Tuesday afternoon at New England Golf and Tennis Camp.
The Terriers still search for their first victory at 0-3 (0-1 NAC) while Eagles improve to 2-0 (1-0 NAC).
In doubles action, Olivia Mora (Surry, Maine) and Irune Arruti Moreno (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) fell to Sarah Smith and Charlotte Bednarz on the one line, 8-3. In number two doubles, Sadie Farrand (Norridgewock, Maine) and Alexis Raymond (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) were blanked 8-0 by Marisa Brown in Meredith Blessard.
Mora earned the Terriers lone victory in number one singles play as she won 9-8, after a 7-5 tiebreaker. She also trailed 6-3 before tying the match up at 8-8. The Terriers fell in the rest of the matches as Moreno went down 8-1, Farrand 8-0, and Raymond 8-3.
The Terriers next match will be on Saturday, September 16 as they take on Johnson at 1:00 p.m.
