WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's tennis team was blanked 9-0 by Colby on Sunday morning in a non-conference contest.
The loss brings the Terriers down to 1-2 while the Mules improve to 3-0 in their three matches on the weekend.
In doubles matches, all three contest ended in an 8-0 decision. Lindsey Allen (Jay, Maine / Spruce Mountain) and Olivia Mora (Surry, Maine / Ellsworth) were defeated by Gabriela Venditti and Lydia Venditti in number one doubles while Amelia Guimond (Fort Kent, Maine / Fort Kent) and Mia Navarro (Willimantic, Conn. / Windham) lost to Jamie Pine and Annie Morris in number two. Sarah Vigue (Dexter, Maine / Dexter) and Olita Laraway (Morrisville, Vermont / Peoples Academy) fell to Emily Dyckman and Hania Lenderking in the number three contest.
In singles action, Allen (1), Guimond (3), Vigue (5), and Laraway (6) were all shutout 6-0, 6-0 in their matchups while Mora (2) lost 6-0, 6-1 and Navarro (4) 6-1, 6-0.
The Terriers will have a day of rest on Monday and travel to Husson on Tuesday, September 13, as they begin their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) schedule in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
