WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell to Colby-Sawyer College in a North Atlantic Conference match on Sunday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center. The match was the final home contest for senior Katie McAllister.
The Chargers jumped to an early 3-0 lead, winning all three doubles matches. Lindsey Allen and Olivia Mora fell to the pair of Ashlyn Ramsay and Ashley Woodside 8-1 in first doubles. McAllister and Amelia Guimond dropped second doubles 8-2 to Aislinn O'Connor and Evelyn Miller. Mia Navarro and Jordyn Taylor also fell 8-2, dropping third doubles to Hilary Boucher and Michelle Lopes.
Singles began with Allen falling in first singles 6-0, 6-3 to Ramsay. Olivia Mora lost second doubles to Woodside 6-2, 6-1. Guimond fell to O'Connor 6-1, 6-0 and Navarro dropped fourth singles to Miller 6-0, 6-0. McAllister was beaten by Abbie Rix 6-1, 6-1 and Rachel Gillis was defeated by Cate Connery 6-2, 6-2.
This marks the end of the season and the career of McAllister, who was a three year member of the team.
