WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's tennis team defeated Lyndon State College on Saturday afternoon for their first win of the season. The North Atlantic Conference matchup was held at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center.
Allen took first singles 6-1, 6-4 over Boyce and Mora defeated Nichole Jones 6-0, 6-3 in second singles. A crucial point in the match happened during third singles. Amelia Guimond went down quickly 3-0 in the first set but rallied to the set 3-3. On serve at 4-4 Guimond broke serve to go up 5-4 and then held serve to win the first set 6-4. She then went on to win the second set 7-5 to earn the win. The Terriers gained their fifth point with a win by Mia Navarro in forth singles 6-3, 6-2.
The Terriers will return to the court on Sunday, September 20 in a conference match against Johnson State College. The match will be held at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center at 11:00 am.
