WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell to Husson University 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center. The loss drops the Terriers to 0-4 on the season while the Eagles improve to 2-0.
In singles play, Lindsey Allen was defeated 6-4, 6-0, and Olivia Mora won 6-1, 7-5. In third singles, Amelia Guimond fell in both 6-0, 6-0, and number four singles Miangelik Navarro-Rivera lost 6-2, 6-4. Katie McAllister was defeated in the five spot 6-0, 6-1, and Rachel Gillis lost 6-3, 6-0.
Allen and Mora began with a loss in their doubles match 8-4, followed by Guimond and Navarro-Rivera falling in the number two doubles 8-1. The duo of McAllister and Gillis were defeated 8-6 in number three doubles.
The Terriers will host a match on Tuesday, September 17 against the University of Southern Maine at 4:00 pm. The contest will be take place at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center.
