WATERVILLE, ME - Thomas College women's tennis was unable to come away with win on Saturday afternoon, dropping both matchs in a tri-match at Colby. The Terriers lost to Colby-Sawyer in the first match, then fell to crosstown rival Colby in the final matchup of the evening.
In doubles play the pair of Jessica Bowen and Lindsey Allen fell 8-1, while Katie McAllister and Dalia Williams battled to an 8-3 loss. Logan Bruneau and Olivia Mora in three doubles lost 8-3 as well.
Bowen in the top singles spot fell 7-5, 6-3, while Allen was defeted 6-0, 6-1. Williams fell in the third singles spot 6-4, 6-1, and Mora lost 6-4, 2-6, 10-4. Amelia Guimond wraped up the Terrier five with a 6-1, 6-1 loss.
Doubles started off with the Bowen and Allen pairing falling 8-3, while Williams and Mora, and the combination of McAllister and Bruneau were both defeated 8-0.
In singles play, Bowen was defeated 7-5, 6-2, and Allen fell 6-1, 6-1. In three singles Williams was defeatd 6-1, 6-0, and Mora lost 6-0, 6-0. Guimond fell in the the five spot 6-1, 6-0, and Jacklyn Woodward lost 6-0, 6-0.
Thomas will be back on the courts on Sunday, September 7 as they travel to Becker in a non-conference tilt.
