WATERVILLE, ME – Thomas College Athletic Director David Roussel '93 has announced the hiring of Jill Cristan as head women's tennis coach.
Cristan served as assistant coach for the program last season, while also being the head varsity coach at Waterville High School since 2010.
"Coach Cristan was an important part of our program last year as an assistant coach and we are excited to have a person with her experience, knowledge and passion as our women's tennis coach," adds Roussel.
A former United States Tennis Association (USTA) singles player, Cristan previously was the JV coach at Waterville High School from 2006-09 before taking over the varsity program.
"These are exciting times for Thomas College, both academically and athletically," says Cristan. "I'm proud to have an even larger role in helping Thomas build a strong women's tennis program. The players and I are serious about tennis and about taking our team to new levels. We want everyone at Thomas College to be excited about our team."
A graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, Cristan received a Bachelor's of Science in Special Education.
Cristan currently resides in Waterville with her husband Tony and daughter Emma, while also teaching at George J. Mitchell School.
