Terriers Swept by USM in Season Opener

WATERVILLE, ME – Thomas was unable to come away with a win in their season opener, falling to University of Southern Maine in a non-conference women's tennis match on Thursday evening. The Terriers fall to 0-1, while USM improves to 3-0.

Dalia Williams playing number two doubles battled to a third set, ultimately falling to Jenna Willey 6-7, 6-1, 12-1. In her collegiate debut, Lindsey Allen held her own in the first set, being defeated 6-4, then was swept in the second flight 6-0.

In doubles the combination of Jessica Bowen and Allen went back and forth with Mary Moran and Emily Boutin, but fell 8-5.

The match signaled the collegiate debuts for Allen, Logan Bruneau, Michaela Stanley, and Katie McAllister.

Thomas returns to action on Saturday, September 7 against crosstown rival Colby at 10am.
