The Thomas women's tennis team has earned the third seed in the 2012 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division Women's Tennis Championship.
Colby-Sawyer College has earned the top seed and will host the four-team tournament on Saturday, October 20.The Chargers finished the season a perfect 9-0 in conference play, will square off against the fourth seed, Lyndon.
The Terriers, who finished the regular season 5-7, 5-4 in the NEAC will square off against second seeded Castleton.
The semifinal rounds will begin at 10 am, with the winners meeting in the final round an hour after the opening matches are complete.
In the event of inclement weather, matches will be moved to the Boss Tennis Center at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Beginning with the 2010 season, North Atlantic Conference (NAC) members Castleton, Johnson State, Lyndon, and Thomas have played in the NEAC as associate members in the East Division. Colby-Sawyer joined the NAC in 2011, and MCLA joined as an associate member prior to this season.
Each Division will hold a championship and the two divisional champions will in the spring, with the winner earning the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
