WATERVILLE, ME- The Thomas Terriers (4-7, 4-4 NAC) defeated the Johnson State Badgers (1-10, 1-7 NAC) 7-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's tennis matchup Saturday afternoon.
Jessica Bowen (Lewiston, Maine) swept her singles match 6-0, 6-0 and also won in her doubles match 8-0 alongside Tyler Ventura (Atkinson, N.H.). Ventura also picked up a victory in singles winning 8-1. Dalia Williams (Boston, Mass.) went 6-1, 6-3 in singles in the win, and also got an 8-2 defeat in doubles teamed up with Sarah Marckoon (Lamoine, Maine), who also picked up a win in singles (6-2, 6-0).
The Terriers are now 2-0 against the Badgers this season, defeating them earlier in the fall on the road 6-3. With the victory, Thomas has all but sealed the third spot in the regular season conference standings.
Thomas will finish out the regular season tomorrow as they host Lyndon State at 2pm. The Terriers defeated the Hornets the first time these teams met in Lyndon this season 5-4.
