WSOC: Hoving's Hat-Trick Pushes Thomas Past SUNY Canton on Senior Day

WATERVILLE, Maine – Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) scored her fourth hat-trick of the season to lead the Thomas College women's soccer team to a 3-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over SUNY Canton on Sturday afternoon on Smith Field.

Hoving scored all three of her goals in the first 30 minutes of the game to secure the 3-0 win. Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H.) assisted her first goal while Julia Smith (Durham, Maine) assisted the second.

Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) recorded her fifth consecutive shutout and ninth overall, stopping three shots on goal. Allison Wakefield took the loss for SUNY Canton, allowing three goals on 11 shots.

SENIOR CELEBRATION

Prior to the game, seniors Contigiani, Smith, Gordon, Sam Cleaves (North Yarmouth, Maine) Samantha Griffin (Union, Maine) and Makenzie Carlow (Winslow, Maine) were honored for playing in their final regular season home game on Smith Field.

Thomas travels to Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday October 22 for their NAC and regular season finale at 4:00 PM.
