WSOC: Thomas Downs Clippers, 5-0

WATERVILLE, Maine – Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H.) and Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) each scored twice to lead the Thomas College women's soccer team to a 5-0 win over UMaine-Machias on Wednesday evening at Smith Field.

Makenzie Carlow (Winslow, Maine) opened the scoring in the 26th minute to make it 1-0 going into the half.

Hoving scored her first less than two minutes into the second half to push it to 2-0. Contigiani scored two and a half minutes later off a feed from Hoving to make it 3-0. Hoving and Contigiani each scored once more, assisting on each other's goals, to give Thomas the 5-0 win.

Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) earned the shutout win for Thomas, making six saves.

WHAT'S NEXT

Thomas will host SUNY Canton in a conference match on Saturday, October 20 at 1:00 PM. Prior to the game, Thomas will recognize their seniors, who will be playing in their final regular season home game.
