PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H.) and Julia Smith (Durham, Maine) each scored hat-tricks as the Thomas College women's soccer team defeated UMaine-Presque Isle 10-0 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match on Saturday afternoon.
Contigiani picked up her hat-trick in the first 23 minutes, with Sam Cleaves (North Yarmouth, Maine) and Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) also tallying goals in the first to put Thomas up 5-0 at the half.
Smith picked up her first in the 53rd minute, followed by scores from Hoving and Makenzie Carlow (Winslow, Maine). Smith finished her hat-trick late, scoring in the 88th and 90th minute to give Thomas the 10-0 win. Smith also added three assists in the game to give her nine points on the day.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Terriers' ten goals is the most they've scored in a game since September 13, 2014, when they defeated Daniel Webster 13-0.
- Smith's nine points matches the program record for points in a game, tying Hoving's nine-point performance against Pine Manor earlier this season.
Thomas will host Unity on Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 PM on Smith Field.
