WSOC: Terriers Drop 2OT Match to USM, 2-1

GORHAM, Maine – The Thomas College women's soccer team lost a 2-1 double overtime match to the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday evening.

Kathering Hoving (Bristol, Maine) scored her eighth goal of the season just before time expired in the first to give Thomas the 1-0 lead at the half.

USM knotted things up in the 67th minute when Emma Cost found Alexandria Allain for the 1-1 equalizer to force overtime.

After a scoreless first overtime, the Huskies got the game winner from Emma Dennison, with an assist by Allain, to win it 2-1.

Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) was stellar in net for Thomas, stopping seven of nine shots in the loss. Taylor Canastra made five saves to earn the win for USM.

Thomas host Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday, September 22 in a 1:00 PM North Atlantic Conference match on Smith Field.
