POULTNEY, VT – The Thomas College women's soccer team shutout Green Mountain College, 4-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers improve to 2-8 (2-3 NAC) overall on the season while the Eagles stay winless at 0-10-1 (0-3-1 NAC). Jackie Woodward (Burlington, Maine / Penobscot Valley) notched two goals in the first four minutes of play while Julia Smith (Durham, Maine / Freeport) tallied a goal and an assist.
Thomas got on the board in the 1st minute of action as Woodward won the ball just outside the six-yard box and fired a shot into the lower left corner of the net. Woodward connected again for her second of the game when she finished off a nice crossing pass near the goal mouth from Smith. Smith then extended the lead to 3-0 when her lobbed shot on net flew over the Eagle keepers' outstretched arms into the top right corner.

Senior goalkeeper Paige Leary (Palermo, Maine / Erskine Academy) recorded zero saves in the shutout victory while Tyah Culp made 14 saves in the loss for the Eagles. Thomas outshot Green Mountain 36-1 and held a 5-0 advantage in corners.
