WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 13-6 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon on Bernatchez Field.
The Terriers struck first with a goal by Mackenzie Driscoll (North Andover, Mass.) less than three minutes in. MMA struck back three minutes later to knot it 1-1. Thomas regained the lead at the 23:06 mark when Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.) scored on a free position shot to make it 2-1. The Mariners evened the score again, before the Terriers scored three unanswered to take a 5-2 lead. Meredith Wheeler (Westbrook, Maine), Felch and Driscoll each netted one in the stretch. The Mariners scored two late in first to cut the Thomas lead to 5-4 at the half.
The Terrier offense went cold in the second, with Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) scoring the lone goal while MMA scored nine to take the 13-6 win.
Arianna Cannistraro (Waltham, Mass.) took the loss in the cage for Thomas, making 10 saves.
Thomas will travel to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Wednesday, April 17 for a NAC game at 4:00 PM.
