WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a 17-3 victory over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Tuesday evening at Bernatchez Field.
Meredith Wheeler (Westbrook, Maine) opened the scoring seven minutes in to put Thomas up 1-0. The Hornets tied it less than a minute later, but the Terriers soon pulled away and never looked back. Carina Iacozzi (Atkinson, N.H.) scored the go-ahead goal at the 18:48 mark with a Lyndon player in the box. Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.) scored back-to-back goals followed by tallies by Wheeler and Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine). Thomas closed the half with Emlee Sanuth (Manchester, N.H.), Bradstreet (twice) and Felch all scoring to head into the break up 11-2.
Mackenzie Driscoll (North Andover, Mass.) scored twice in a just over a minute to continue the scoring for Thomas. Felch scored three more to give her a career-high seven goals, while Bradstreet added another two as Thomas went on to the 17-3 win.
Thomas hosts Husson in a non-conference game on Saturday, March 23 at 3:30 PM.
