NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team dropped a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup to Colby-Sawyer College, 19-2, on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the NAC while Thomas drops to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the NAC.
The home team raced out to an 11-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game and led 15-2 at the half. The Chargers added four more scores in the second to pick up the 19-2 victory under sunny skies in New London.
Senior Nicole Lavigne recorded a team best nine points on six goals and three assists for the Chargers. Junior Sierra Schuster scored four times, while junior Brittany Ireland and freshman Sarah Morin added two goals apiece.
Thomas received goals from sophomore Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.) and senior Kimberly Banks (Swan's Island, Maine). Sophomore Darrian Leonardi (Thomaston, Maine) picked up a team best three ground balls.
Sophomore Kailyn Lapham finished with six stops for the Chargers to earn her fifth victory of the season. Sophomore Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) had five saves in the loss for Thomas.
The Terriers host Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Monday, April 2 at 6:00 p.m.
