Eagles Best Terriers in NAC Contest

BANGOR, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team fell to Husson University, 16-1, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Wednesday night.

The Eagles improve to 2-2 (2-0 NAC) on the year while the Terriers move to 0-3 (0-1 NAC).

Husson held a 11-0 scoring advantage throughout the first half led by Cali Newton with four goals.  Newton added three of five second half goals to take a 16-1 victory.  The Terriers broke the shutout with 1:06 remaining in the contest on a tally by Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.)

Newton led all scorers with seven goals and an assist while Paige Daigle and Amanda Deshaies each recorded a hat trick.

Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine), Amira Jones (Chicopee, Mass.), and Kimberly Banks (Swan's Island, Maine) combined for seven ground balls defensively.

Mallory Burchill did not record a save in the win for Husson while Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) made eight saves for the Terriers.

Thomas will travel to Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, March 31 for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
